I had put my camera down for a few months. No reason in particular, I just felt uninspired for a little while- that and: I started college, made new friends, adjusted, oh! and studied too (don’t worry, mom).
So, as the new year was coming ‘round, I thought about challenging myself and pick up my camera again. Thus, the neat 52-Week Photo Challenge of 2019, a yearly challenge created by Dogwood Photography.
Personally, I had never imagined a future beyond 2018. An unusual cutoff, I know, but until now I had always known where I’d be. In some ways, I was certain about what each year would bring me, and now it’s pretty much out in the open. I don’t know what to expect of 2019. Concerts, vacation plans…study plans for 2019, that I know, but in my mind its much less clear what this year will bring me. So, I’ll bring something into this year myself, no?
My aim is to improve my skills and creativity in photography, and I’d be lying if I said this isn’t a terrifying task/resolution. I may not have fancy gear, or expert knowledge of light, aperture, shutter, exposure, ISO, etc. but I do have curiosity and determination.
Enjoy, check-out my weekly reflections of the task-at-hand or follow the link and try it out yourself!
Happy New Year!
